Крипер (англ. Creeper) — это распространённый враждебный моб, который тихо подкрадывается к игроку и взрывается. Из-за своего особенного внешнего вида и высокой эффективности убийства неосторожных игроков, а также нанесения ущерба миру и постройкам игроков, крипер стал одним из главных символов Minecraft.

Криперы являются основным источником пороха и единственным источником некоторых пластинок. При ударе молнии крипер становится заряженным, что увеличивает силу его взрыва и позволяет получить головы мобов.

Описание

Внешний вид

Крипер выглядит как безрукий гуманоид с четырьмя короткими ногами, большими чёрными когтями, зелёной кожей похожей на листья с небольшим количеством серых пятен, большими пустыми глазницами/чёрными глазами и ртом, изогнутом в грустном (или угрожающем) выражении. По словам Нотча, на ощупь криперы «хрусткие, как сухие листья»^[1].

Поведение

Криперы будут преследовать любого игрока в радиусе 16 блоков. Криперы могут подниматься по лестницам, как и другие мобы, но не делают этого преднамеренно. Также они могут плавать в воде, искать путь через различные коридоры, склоны, лабиринты и преодолевать другие сложные препятствия. Они прекращают преследование, если игрок уходит на расстояние более 16 блоков от них.

На расстоянии 3 блоков от игрока крипер немного расстягивается, мигает и шипит, после чего взрывается через 1,5 секунды. Убийство крипера до взрыва отменяет взрыв, также взрыва можно избежать, если выйти из радиуса поражения крипера (3-5 блоков в зависимости от сложности), либо, что проще — вышибить на аналогичное расстояние самого крипера или поставить перед собой блок.

Криперы избегают кошек и оцелотов и не приближаются к ним на расстояние меньше 5 блоков, даже при преследовании игрока. Крипер, заметивший кошку, немедленно попытается убежать от неё, но остановится на некотором расстоянии. Это расстояние меньше, чем радиус зрения крипера, поэтому возможно и такое, что крипер будет постоянно приближаться к игроку и, не доходя до него, разворачиваться и убегать. Кроме того, убегающий крипер всё ещё опасен и может взорваться, если игрок подойдёт слишком близко.

Крипер — один из двух мобов, которых почти никогда не будут пытаться атаковать другие мобы (кроме самозащиты иглобрюхов, снеговиков, хранителей, иссушителей и поборников, переименованных в Johnny — при нападении поборника-Джонни крипер попытается взорваться, хотя, как правило, поборник убьёт его первым; однако бывают случаи, когда крипер взрывается первым, но заряженный крипер проигрывает всегда). Крипера могут спровоцировать другие мобы, если «навредят» ему. Сами криперы нападают только на игрока. Вторым мобом с такой исключительной враждебностью является гаст (за исключением редких случаев «самозащиты» иглобрюхов и нападения хранителей на гастов). Прирученные мобы и железные големы, а также зоглины никогда не будут атаковать криперов. Крипер не атакует жителей и безопасен для них.

Взрыв

Криперы взрываются с мощностью, в 4 раза меньшей, чем ТНТ. Урон от взрыва зависит от сложности: так, например, в полном комплекте алмазной брони на лёгкой сложности игрок получит урон не более 4 (), в то время как на высокой сложности урон может достичь 15 ( × 7.5).

Повреждение блоков при взрыве зависит от их взрывоустойчивости. При этом выдержать взрыв без повреждений гарантированно могут только блоки, обладающие взрывоустойчивостью более 63,5. Таким образом, обсидиан, плачущий обсидиан и блок незерита являются строительными материалами, невосприимчивыми к взрыву. Также, если крипер взорвётся на плите, то сломается только плита, на которой он стоял. Местность при этом не повреждается. При взрыве в воде разрушения окружения не будет, хотя урон игрокам и мобам все равно будет нанесён.

Крипер не взорвётся, если игрок смотрит на него с уступа высотой в три блока или более. Однако, если ударить крипера, тот подпрыгнет на 0.325—0.5725 блока из-за отбрасывания, окажется близко к игроку и взорвётся. Однако, можно быстро спрыгнуть с стены (если она не высокая) и таким образом отменить взрыв. Также если между крипером и игроком есть твёрдый блок, то урон может снизится до 2 ().

Заряженный крипер

При ударе молнии в радиусе до 4 блоков от крипера тот становится заряженным. Заряженный крипер отличим по светящейся синей ауре, которая его окружает. Такой крипер имеет увеличенную в два раза силу взрыва, из-за чего повреждения от его взрыва будут в полтора-два раза больше, а урон, нанесённый игроку, в большинстве случаев убьёт последнего. Заряженных молнией криперов иногда можно увидеть во время или после грозы, но достаточно редко — молния нечасто попадает в крипера. Не пытайтесь бороться с ним в ближнем бою без хорошей тактики, оружия и брони, предпочтительнее застрелить его из лука с безопасного расстояния. К счастью, молния наносит мобу большой урон, поэтому убить такого крипера несколько проще.

Также заспаунить такого крипера можно с помощью команды /summon creeper ~ ~2 ~ {powered:1}.

С добавлением трезубца появилась возможность самостоятельно спаунить заряженных криперов в режиме выживания, путём метания трезубца с чарами «Громовержец».

Также заряженного крипера можно получить с помощью молниеотвода во время грозы. Молниеотвод перенаправляет молнии на себя, и если крипер находился рядом с ним (в пределах 4-х блоков), то крипер станет заряженным.

Использование

Убийство криперов является наиболее простым способом получения пороха — взрывчатого вещества, наиболее заметными применениями которого является крафт ТНТ, пиротехнических ракет и создание взрывающихся зелий. Порох не выпадает при детонации крипера.

Пластинки

Если крипер убит скелетом (или зимогором), из него выпадет любая пластинка, кроме Otherside, Pigstep или 5. Во всех остальных случаях диск не выпадет. Один из способов получить пластинку — это заставить крипера бежать за игроком, пока скелет или зимогор в него стреляет. Однако, это достаточно сложно, поэтому эффективней получать пластинки, заманивая криперов в специальные ловушки из поршней (криперы обходят неровные поверхности и двери, поэтому обычная яма не сработает). В этом случае игроку останется только следить за скелетом, что намного проще. Также, можно сделать ловушку из нажимной плиты, четырёх люков вокруг неё и блока наверху. Криперы не обходят такие ловушки и попадутся в люки. Также, если крипер упадет в сооружения из люков, которые генерируются в таёжной деревне, то он, как жители и зомби-жители, не сможет оттуда выбраться. Запрыгнуть сможет, а выпрыгнуть — нет. Пластинки лучше добывать в пустыне, так как там очень много скелетов и криперов.

Лучше всего пытаться получить пластинку на ровной местности, так как препятствия в первую очередь будут мешать Вам. Крипера можно предварительно «подбить» перед добычей (лучше всего это сделать 2 ударами каменного, или более хорошего, топора), это позволить скелету убить его с одного-двух выстрелов. Кошки и оцелоты поблизости могут мешать охоте, так как криперы их боятся. Впрочем, при осознанном использовании это же свойство применяется для отделения криперов от скелетов. Однако, есть вариант гораздо безопаснее. Надо выкопать яму 3 на 3 блока, поставить по краям и середине поршни, но под центральным поршнем должен быть красный камень. Далее на крайние поршни ставим забор (калитку) и на них любой блок. А на центральный поршень ставим нажимную плиту. Делаем две ловушки. Наконец, заманиваем в одну ловушку скелета а в другую — крипера. Затем ломаем один блок у крипера (сзади) и у скелета (спереди), чтобы скелет мог стрелять на той же линии, на которой находится крипер. Затем отходим от крипера на расстояние больше пяти блоков, и скелет спокойно сможет застрелить крипера. Ломаем забор и берём пластинку.

Головы

От зомби, скелетов и криперов, убитых взрывом заряженного крипера, остаются соответствующие головы. Это единственный честный способ получить головы данных мобов в режиме выживания. Головы выпадают также из скелетов-иссушителей, но такое использование заряженных криперов нерационально, так как сначала его нужно заманить в Нижний мир, потом взорвать около скелета, что сложно, а голова может либо не выпасть, либо сгореть. Кроме того, из скелета-иссушителя и так можно выбить голову, шанс выпадения составляет 2,5 %, но его можно увеличить используя чары «Добыча». Из игроков головы не выпадают.

Ведение боя

Крипер, по большому счёту, не очень опасен, если его вовремя заметить, но может причинить немало вреда, если сможет подкрасться незамеченным, или свалится на голову игроку в пещере. Если вы слышите чьи-то шаги, но звуков, характерных другим мобам, нет — где-то рядом крипер. Проще всего убить крипера при помощи лука — два выстрела с полностью натянутой тетивой оставят криперу 1 ()-4 (), после чего его можно добить одним ударом любого меча. Если у лука есть чары «Сила» — добивание мечом не понадобится.

Ближний бой с крипером вести опаснее. Чтобы победить крипера, нужно чередовать удары мечом с отступлениями назад (возможно, даже бегом), чтобы выйти из зоны поражения. Кошка может помочь с защитой игрока от криперов, так как они не будут приближаться.

Также крипера можно поджечь огнивом, кликнув прямо по нему ПКМ. Крипер гарантированно взорвётся. Такой способ можно применять, если у игрока нет меча или другого достойного оружия, а от крипера нужно быстро избавиться или устроить контролируемый (и, как следствие, более безопасный) взрыв.

При этом горящие стрелы (прошедшие сквозь огонь или лаву или же зачарованные на воспламенение) наносят криперу дополнительный урон огнем, не вынуждая его сдетонировать. Это можно использовать как бонус к основному урону лука, наносимому стрелой, при этом без риска взрыва крипера, в случае если он держится от игрока достаточно далеко.

Оборона

Благодаря незаметности криперов и их способности разрушать блоки следует внимательно относиться к появлению мобов недалеко от жилья игрока. Некоторые методы защиты от криперов подобны обороне от других враждебных мобов.

• Для уменьшения вероятности появления криперов осветите всю местность неподалёку, включая крыши строений и помещения изнутри.
• Не устанавливайте нажимные пластины перед дверьми снаружи, это может позволить криперам (и другим враждебным мобам) проникнуть внутрь. Нажимная пластина с внутренней стороны деревянной двери будет закрывать дверь после каждого прохода игрока, избавляя от необходимости следить за дверьми. При использовании железной двери снаружи следует поместить кнопку.
• Оградите территорию любым видом забора (обычным забором, адским забором, булыжниковой или замшелой стеной). Преимущество заборов перед высокой стеной из обычных строительных блоков состоит в том, что через забор можно увидеть притаившихся криперов.
• Можете оградить какой либо участок рельсами, крипер не может пройти через них.
• В стенах можно устроить бойницы с помощью 4 ступеней любого материала, расположенных 2×2 «пустотой к центру», и пары блоков забора перед ними. Простреливаются из лука, но не дают криперам достаточных оснований взрываться при виде вас. Однако скелеты через эти бойницы тоже начнут причинять вред, если будут разглядывать вас слишком долго.
• Используйте взрывоустойчивые материалы, если возможно. Взрыв крипера может сделать в камне или булыжнике брешь глубиной в 1 блок, тогда как блоки вроде земли, песка или адского камня будут уничтожены в радиусе до 5 блоков. Из доступных в Выживании блоков абсолютной взрывоустойчивостью обладает только обсидиан — если он недоступен в достаточных количествах или портит внешний вид постройки, можно укрепить им хотя бы самые важные помещения.
• Постройки, висящие над землей или находящиеся на острове, будут защищены от проникновения криперов, если осветить всё внутри.
• Кошки, рассаженные по периметру, будут отпугивать криперов. Расстояние между двумя соседними кошками должно быть не более 9 блоков.
• В Нижнем мире и в Крае криперов нет. Если вас устраивают опасности этих измерений, можно жить там.

• Впервые был добавлен в Pocket Edition с Alpha 0.4.0. Также он был доступен и в Alpha 0.3.3, но его можно было добавить только с помощью утилиты PocketInvEditor, так как официально там его не было.

A creeper is a fictional creature from the sandbox video game Minecraft. Creepers are hostile mobs (short for mobile non-player characters) that can be encountered within the game world at any given time or location where such mobs spawn in the dark. Instead of traditionally attacking the player directly, they creep up on the player and explode when they get close, destroying blocks in the surrounding area and potentially damaging the player if they are inside or near the blast radius. Their green camouflage and generally silent behavior aid in stealth attacks. Creepers were first added to Minecraft in a pre-alpha update to the game that was released on August 31, 2009.

The creeper has become one of the most widely recognized icons of Minecraft. They have been referenced and parodied in popular culture, and they are featured prominently in Minecraft merchandise and advertising.

Characteristics and design[edit]

Creepers were created as a result of a coding error of the pig mob in the pre-alpha stages of Minecraft’s development.^[1] Minecraft creator Markus «Notch» Persson mixed the dimensions of the pig model up, with the length and height being swapped. This, combined with the AI of looking at the player, led to the Creeper becoming a hostile mob.^[2][3][4][5] On September 1, 2009, the monster was named «Creeper» and was added to one of the pre-alpha versions of the game^[6][7] called 0.24_SURVIVAL_TEST_03.^[8][7] In 2011, the Minecraft logo was edited to integrate the creeper face into the letter «A».^[4] For April Fools’ Day 2014, Minecraft was briefly updated to have Creepers and all other mobs and music sound the same as Villagers, voiced by Dan Lloyd.^[9][10]

The original color of the creeper was dark green.^[7] In 2021, an investigation revealed that Persson simply took the texture of leaves, one of the building blocks of Minecraft, and painted on it a characteristic face.^[8] With the new updates, the hostile mob received a new texture, sound, and unique behavior. Initially, creepers attacked players directly like zombies and exploded only when they were killed, but Persson decided that this was not enough and made the explosion a basic mob attack.^[7]

In Minecraft, the player exists in a large world made up of cubes. The world contains a number of enemies, of which creepers are commonly encountered. A creeper is practically silent until it comes near the player, at which point it emits a quiet hiss^[6] and detonates after a short delay. The explosion kills the creeper, can kill or injure the player, and also destroys surrounding blocks.^[11] In an article for Games and Culture, Daniel Dooghan characterized the creeper as a «suicide bomber».^[12]

The charged creeper is a more powerful variant of the regular creeper. Over time, the developers decided that creepers were not unpredictable enough, and increased the destructive power of their explosions by having creepers become charged if a lightning strike occurs near them. Mobs killed by charged creepers, including other creepers, drop their heads, which can then be worn in the player’s head armor slot as a disguise against mobs of that type.^[13][7]

Appearances[edit]

The creeper originally appeared in Minecraft in a pre-alpha update as a common hostile mob that silently approaches players and hisses, then explodes. It appeared later in Minecraft spin-off games such as Minecraft: Story Mode,^[14] Minecraft Dungeons,^[15] Minecraft Legends^[16] and Minecraft Earth.^[17]

Creepers in Minecraft are one of the most unique and iconic hostile mobs found within the game. A creeper can easily be recognized by its tall vertical structure (roughly the size of a player), its pixelated body covered in a range of greens to whites, and its four legs. It is one of the most dangerous mobs in the game, as it is not affected by sunlight like zombies and skeletons (but it can despawn after a while if you stay very far from it) and will always remain hostile (unlike the spider, which becomes neutral in daylight). This makes it a constant threat as it silently roams the map, searching for an unknowing player to explode upon. It should be noted, however, that most creepers do despawn during the day, along with spiders. It is often used as the game’s mascot by Mojang.

Origin[edit | edit source]

The creeper was accidentally created by Notch, the creator of Minecraft. While Notch was trying to create the first-ever passive mob, the pig, a coding mistake was made, and he accidentally swapped the height and lengths of the pig’s build. As a result, he got a tall, slim being with the face and torso in the shape of a player instead of a pig. With no arms and 4 stubby legs, this creature became known as the creeper, a mob that explodes within a distance from the player. It is one of the most recognizable Minecraft mobs and characters, another example being Steve.

Behavior[edit | edit source]

A creeper who has sighted a player within 16 blocks will creep up on that player until the distance between them is only a few blocks. It should be noted that creepers tend to walk to the right of a player. The creeper makes use of a suicide-bomb-like attack involving getting within close proximity of a player (usually 2-3 blocks) before exploding. A player’s only warning to when the creeper is about to explode is a very distinctive hiss, as well as the swelling and white flashing of the creeper itself (similar to the animation by a lighted TNT), which starts about 1-2 seconds prior to the explosion. If a player tries moving away when a creeper is hissing, it will cancel the detonation; however, the harder the difficulty, the further away a player has to get. It takes three full seconds for the creeper to detonate. After it explodes, it will leave a large crater in the ground, ejecting all of it’s shell and equipment to cause further damage. The size of this crater is solely dependent on what the terrain is made from. Typically, a hole in the topsoil is created; however, they can be powerful enough to destroy stone. A creeper’s explosion won’t create a crater if the creeper is in a water source, but it can still damage nearby mobs.

When a creeper is killed by an arrow shot by a skeleton, it will drop a random music disc, which can be played in a jukebox. It doesn’t matter what dealt most of the damage, as long as the last blow was the arrow of a skeleton. Creepers cannot use doors although they can climb ladders and vines despite not having any arms, being the only hostile mob who can do this.

If a creeper has been inflicted with a status effect, it will leave that effect behind on the ground, similar to lingering potions.

Creeper drop 0-2 gunpowder, which is used to craft TNT, but only when killed from damage caused by players. A creeper who is killed by its own explosion drops nothing.^[1]

Charged Creepers[edit | edit source]

If struck with lightning, a creeper will become a «Charged Creeper». Charged creepers are stronger, and they have a larger blast radius than a normal creeper. They also have a visible, electric aura surrounding them.

Attack Strength[edit | edit source]

Strategy[edit | edit source]

Creepers can be somewhat formidable foes when encountered as their stealth gives them the upper hand. Creepers are slow, and they will also reverse their detonation time if a player leaves their range. This can be used to a player’s advantage in melee combat. A player can simply hit the creeper with their sword and then quickly back away before the creeper detonates which lets a player get at least two hits in before having to retreat. If this process is repeated, a creeper can be easily defeated. This is easily done by all players, even those who have started a new world.

The most effective and safest way to eliminate a creeper is to simply use a bow as ranged combat will surmount the creeper’s slow speed. A player would need at least three arrows with a regular bow; however, this can be minimized with enchantments. Another effective way is to light the ground on fire with a flint and steel and lead the creeper up to it, or simply right-click the creeper and detonate it, but the player must run away as the detonation will not be cancelled if done by this method, and if the player chooses this strategy they will gain nothing, as creepers don’t drop gunpowder when they explode. A player may also use a shield if they find themselves cornered. However, they must block at the right time, since the player will most likely die if they block too late.

It’s very important you have a cat or Ocelot with you, since the Creeper will not blow you up if your near one, because Creepers are scared of cats and Ocelots.

Tips[edit | edit source]

• When in underground ravines when mining, be careful to make sure that creepers don’t jump down on you from ledges. Whenever possible, try to minimize contact with creepers until a player has a ranged weapon, such as a bow, in order to fight them with. If a player only has a sword and a creeper does attack a player, move backward as well as moving either left or right while slashing to maximize the distance between the creeper. If a player has a sword enchanted with Knockback, the sword will knock the creeper several blocks backward depending on the level of enchantment, thus retreating and attacking again will no longer be needed (this can also be done by sprint-hitting the creeper). It is possible to prevent a creeper from exploding, by moving away from the creeper fast enough. The range of a creeper is determined by a player’s difficulty mode.
• On PC if you leave the game as soon as a creeper takes you by suprise, when the world reloads the creeper will have exploded from where it was but you will be left unharmed.
• It should be noted that creepers do spawn unexpectedly and prowl silently, so it is not recommended to go out at night without protection. Look for an area where creepers cannot reach a player before quitting the game to ensure one doesn’t sneak up on them when they return.
• Fighting creepers in water also gives a player an advantage, since they can swim faster than the creeper and easily knock it out of detonation range. Creepers can’t do damage to structures or players if the creeper is in water.  A player can have a similar advantage if they get the higher ground while fighting on land.
• The more further away a player is, the shorter damage will be taken. The damage can be reduced also by blocking with a sword (or a shield in 1.9 or higher).
• If a player is blocking with a shield while a creeper is exploding, the player will take no damage.
• Creepers are theorized to be plant-animal creatures. Even Notch stated that Creepers are similar to dead grass.
• Another strategy is to get the creeper (and yourself) in the water. Although it will explode, your player (and everything around the creeper) will not be destroyed or take damage.

• If a skeleton, wither skeleton, zombie, or another creeper is killed by a charged creeper, the mob will drop its head; however, this is capped at one head per explosion.
• In hard difficulty, a creeper does 27 hearts of damage with full clean diamond armor, 9 1/2 hearts with full protection IV diamond armor, and 5 hearts with full blast protection diamond armor.
• If you sprint/run through a creeper’s body in survival mode, it will start the detonation process of the creeper. If the player has no movement status effects (speed, jump boost etc.) then the creeper will explode. The explosion will most likely propel the player forward if they are sprinting, otherwise the explosion will damage or kill the player.
• If one displays the ambience sound Cave14.ogg («steaming sound») as a wikipedia:en:spectrogram, a creeper face can be seen.
• Like spiders, the creeper can survive sunlight, but unlike spiders, creepers stay hostile even during the day.
• A creeper’s explosion is less powerful than TNT; however, a charged creeper’s explosion is more powerful than TNT.
• You can hear grass stepping sounds not caused by you when inside your house, that means a creeper is creeping around somewhere near your home.
• The Charged Creeper, on Hard Mode, could kill the Ender Dragon in two shots on the latter’s he
• The creeper gets its name because it creeps up behind people, and then explodes.
• Iron Golems don’t attack creepers (in versions 1.7.10 and earlier) because of the explosion damaging the village, but if a creeper gets in an iron golem’s way, the iron golem could attack the creeper, making it blow up. In 1.8, however, iron golems will attack creepers anyway.
  • This can be prevented by using the /gamerule mobGriefing false command.
• Creepers will try to jump on top of a player if they are above them. They explode when they land on top of a player.
• If a user summons a creeper with the NBT tag,{ExplosionRadius:127}, then the explosion will affect a ton of blocks, making the terrain look rugged when leaving the epicenter. But after a certain distance, the terrain will look completely normal.
• Creepers are scared of ocelots and cats, and when a creeper spots one, it will deliberately try to flee from wherever the ocelot or cat is, ignoring a player completely, so it is highly recommended that if a player must explore at night, a cat or leashed ocelot is brought along.
• Charged creepers will do up to 49 (x 24.5) damage on easy, 97 (x 48.5) damage on normal, and roughly 145 (x 72.5) damage on hard.
• When people asked what the texture of a creeper would be like, Notch said: «crunchy, like dry leaves»^[2]. This leads to the assumption that they are part plant. This is actually viable because, in the plant world, there is a plant called peat moss which grows spores that explode violently.
• If a creeper explodes in water, no damage will be done to the surrounding blocks. Damage can still be done to other mobs if they are close enough, but will not damage a player with no armor on.
  • Players can take advantage of this by allowing a creeper to explode in the water near them, throwing them a certain distance. This distance is greatest vertically if the creeper is directly below a player when it detonates.
• If a creeper stands on a slab, only that slab would explode.
• Creepers used to explode when attacked in creative mode, back in Minecraft 1.2.5.
• There is a glitch where sometimes the creeper will suddenly stop chasing a player, and start walking around in circles, oblivious to a player. The only way of getting the creeper to stop «spinning» is to hit it.
• As of version, 1.6 players can «ignite» a creeper with flint and steel.
• Wolves will not attack creepers. Instead, they will flee until the creeper has been dealt with.
• On some shirts in the Jinx store featuring creepers, a block of TNT is shown inside the head or torso of the creeper (the shirt has now been removed, but other apparels there link creepers with TNT). It is unknown if this is actually how creepers work, but would explain why they drop gunpowder.
• A boat with a sail made of green and black wool blocks, arranged to look like the face of a creeper, can be found in the PS3, Xbox 360 and PS4 tutorial worlds (this is outdated as the tutorial worlds have been updated multiple times, so the boat is no longer present).
• There used to be an old cartoon-like sound when the creeper exploded.
• Creepers have half the fuse time of TNT.
• When an anvil drops on a creeper, the former will prevent most damage from the latter’s explosion.

Крипера должен застрелить скелет или его подвид — зимогор, чтобы выпала музыкальная пластинка. Самые частые пластинки, которые выпадают из моба — «Cat» и «13»^{[1][3][4][5][6]}. Также из моба может выпасть порох^[1][7].

Заряженный крипер

Заряженный крипер — подвид обычных криперов. Со временем разработчики решили, что криперы недостаточно непредсказуемы, и добавили способ сделать их ещё более разрушительными: при ударе молнии криперы заряжаются и взрываются с удвоенной силой. С мобов, убитых этим видом, падают головы, которые можно носить как маскировку^[7][8].

История

Как позднее признавался разработчик Minecraft Маркус «Нотч» Перссон, моб был создан случайно при моделировании свиньи. Маркус перепутал длину и высоту свиньи, вследствие чего получил крипера. Нотч добавил мобу зелёные текстуры и агрессивное поведение^[9].

В тот момент Нотч подумал, что это очень жутко, когда странная штука ходит вокруг и смотрит на тебя. Поэтому он решил оставить Крипера как монстра. Его друг сказал, что было бы круто, если бы он взрывался.

1 сентября 2009 года монстр получил имя «Крипер» и был добавлен в одну из альфа-версий игры^[2][8][11] — 0.24_SURVIVAL_TEST_03^[12][13]. Ещё в альфа-версиях Minecraft взрывная сила криперов была реальной угрозой и они не переставали быть опасными^[1]. Изначально цвет крипера был тёмно-зелёный^[8]. Однако в 2021 году в ходе расследования выяснилось, что Перссон просто взял текстуру листвы, одного из стандартных блоков Minecraft, и дорисовал на ней характерное лицо^[12][13]. С выходом новых обновлений враждебный моб получил новую текстуру, звук и уникальное поведение. Вначале криперы нападали прямо на игроков, как зомби, и взрывались, только когда их убивали, но Нотч решил, что этого недостаточно, и сделал взрыв базовой атакой моба^[8].

Влияние

Популярность и признание

Сразу после своего первого появления крипер стал объектом многих интернет-мемов, фан-артов и продуктов по видеоигре^[14]. Моб стал официальным символом Minecraft после того, как на букву A в логотипе добавили его лицо, и с тех пор эмблема Minecraft остаётся именно такой. Одними из самых ранних товаров марки Minecraft, в том числе и с крипером, были плюшевые игрушки. Через несколько лет появились футболки, игрушки, толстовки, лампы^[15][16] и даже обложки Библии с изображением моба^[8].

Сайтом Sportskeeda^[en] шипение крипера было названо самым страшным звуком в Minecraft^[17]. Игроки признали крипера самым раздражающим и опасным мобом^[18].

«Revenge»

В 2011 году американский видеоблогер CaptainSparklez (Джордан Марон) и TryHardNinja написали песню «Revenge», состоящую из вокала, наложенного на песню «DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love^[en]» певца Ашера. В песне рассказывается про героя, который добывал ресурсы в шахте и испугался крипера. В июле 2019 года, через 8 лет после выхода песни, про песню вспомнили в игровом мессенджере Discord. Потом видеоблогер PewDiePie, который последние три недели выкладывал только видео про Minecraft, заметил новый мем и внёс его в очередной выпуск рубрики Meme Review. Суть в том, что текст «Revenge» стал поводом для игры, которую часто устраивают в комментариях и общих чатах. Нескольким пользователям нужно набрать текст песни строчка за строчкой. Первым сообщением должно быть «Creeper», вторым — «Aw, man». Если во время написания текста один из пользователей ошибся или написал не по теме, все начинают сначала. На YouTube стали выкладывать нарезки из чатов, в которых люди пытаются выполнить задание, но у них ничего не выходит. Челлендж стал известен под названиями «Creeper Challenge» и «Creeper, Aww Man». На сайте Genius песня получила первое место в месячных чартах за июль и август 2019 года^{[19][20][21][22][23]}.

Хлопья

В июле 2020 года совместное партнёрство между Mojang Studios и Kellogg’s привело к анонсу Minecraft Creeper Crunch, официальных хлопьев под брендом Minecraft, на упаковке которого заметно изображён крипер. В состав хлопьев входят зелёные кубики зефира со вкусом корицы. В каждой коробке Minecraft Creeper Crunch присутствует код для разблокировки одного из 10 предметов одежды, таких как куртки и плащи. Хлопья появились в магазинах США в конце августа 2020 года^{[24][25][26][27]}.
