Twink is gay slang for a gay man in his late teens to twenties whose traits may include a slim to average physique, a youthful appearance that may belie an older age, having little or no body hair, flamboyancy, and general physical attractiveness.[3][4][5] Twink is used both as a neutral descriptor, which can be contrasted with bear,[6] and as a pejorative.[3][7] The term is often modified by various descriptors (e.g. femme twink, Euro twink, muscle twink) and is commonly used in the gay pornography industry.[5][8][9]

Etymology[edit]

The exact origins of the term twink are disputed. Some trace its first appearance to 1963, although it may be derived from an older British gay slang term twank, which means: «The quarry of a homosexual prostitute (male); a man willing and ready to become any dominant man’s ‘partner’«.[10] Oxford Dictionaries claims twink has origins in the 1970s.[11][12]

Another possible origin of the term may be a derivation from the American snack cake Twinkie, commonly regarded as the quintessential junk food. The food is described as «little nutritional value, sweet to the taste, and creme-filled»;[13][14][15] by comparison, the young men are described as «short, and blond, and full of creme»,[14] with creme being a euphemism for semen.[14][16]

A backronym has been constructed for twink, according to which it stands for «‘teenaged, white, into no kink», although these specified traits are not universally accepted as either necessary or sufficient to classify an individual as a «twink».[17][18]

Popular culture[edit]

In his book, Never Enough (2007), about a murder committed in 2003 in Hong Kong, described by the New York Times Book Review as hard-boiled clichés with a cartoonish first impression,[19] Joe McGinniss describes a court case in which twink was defined as «a gay slang term used to denote an attractive, boyish-looking gay man between the ages of 18 and 23, slender ectomorph and with little or no body hair, often blond, often but not necessarily Caucasian.»[20]

Essayist Zeb J. Tortorici notes that gay twink porn thrives on the production and performance of «consumable and visually/anally receptive masculinity.»[21] A twink is «memorable for his outer packaging», not his «inner depth».[14] Twink can be seen as a popular subgenre in gay porn widely consumed across the globe.[22]

The term also serves to identify a subculture within gay culture for which members of the community may self-identify, but their stable assurance mostly comes from acceptance by other members. The subculture, as examined now, serves as a purely physical marker for attributes any one person may hold and/or acquire, highly dependent on normative society’s take on beauty standards as a whole and what the community puts forth and prescribes to.[23]

Grindr, a popular dating app for gay men, also utilizes the slang, in reference to «tribes» for users to «identify themselves with a niche group and filter their search to help find their type of guy.»[24]

Twink code[edit]

Like other «codes», such as the bear code, the twink code is a set of symbols using letters, numerals, and other characters commonly found on modern, Western computer keyboards, and used for the describing and rating of twinks.[25] These codes are used in email, Usenet, and Internet forum postings to identify the physical type and preferences of the poster, but have mostly fallen out of usage. The code includes: physical traits, such as «c» for color of hair (from blond to black); «l» for length of hair (from bald/clean-shaven to very long); «h» for degree of hairlessness; «y» for youthful appearance; and «e» for «endowment» (penis size);[25] as well as personality traits, such as «q» for «queeniness»; and sexual preferences, such as «k» for «the kinky factor».[25]

Criticism[edit]

The term twink has been accused of relying on «ageist and racist tropes of youth and white desirability» by Susan Driver.[22][10] In regards to the term, Driver’s epistemology finds that it is «a young, white, and performed masculinity that can be fetishized, consumed, … clearly coded in terms of race and age: White, young»,[22] thus establishing the intersection for which race and age come together to create a hyper-sexualized denomination, often associated with sexual acts and the pornographic industry.[22]

Твинк

1. Твинк (англ.  twink) – в компьютерных играх это не первый персонаж, герой игрока, дополнительный аккаунт. Твинки – это несколько аккаунтов в игре одного человека (World of Tanks), или несколько героев на одном аккаунте (World of Warcraft).

Например, в одних играх твинки создают для помощи основному персонажу, распределение ресурсов и денег между ними (WOW). В других, для игры заново, уже умея это делать, с целью поднятия игровой статистики (WOT).

Твинк в играх - определение в словаре.

2. Другое распространенное определение слова твинк в играх – это игрок, который использует элементы высокого уровня (чаще всего с помощью реальных денег) для получения преимущества над другими игроками и ускорения развития персонажа или техники.

Обычно, хороший твинк это и первое и второе понятие одновременно.

В геймерском комьюнити привычно использование сленговых фраз и словечек, смысл и значение которых весьма далеки от понимания. В этой статье мы поговорим об ещё одном словечке по этой тематике, это Твинк.

Этот термин был заимствован из английского языка «twin», и переводится, как «двойник», «парная вещь», «близнец». То есть из контекста становится понятно, что это нечто дополнительное, не основное.

Синоним слова Твинк: смурф.

Как правило, твинкуют либо своих персонажей, либо персонажей друзей, которые только недавно стали играть в эту игру. Стоит отметить, что честная добыча подобной экипировки с помощью фарминга или торговли, нельзя назвать твинкованием.

Твинки у нубов являются причиной бугурт, поскольку топовый Твинк среди своих ровесников является Богом игры. Он рвёт врагов, не прилагая заметных усилий, а пользователь им управляющий, получает от этого несравнимое удовольствие. Несмотря на неприязнь, любой нуб с радостью войдёт в пати с Твинком, и будет бегать за ним, как привязанный, поскольку прокачка идёт достаточно быстро и беспроблемно.

Происхождение слова Твинк, восходит к гей-сообществу, в нём так называют молодого и симпатичного заднеприводного парня, который прикармливается старым педерастом, или полностью находящегося на содержании у более обеспеченного гея.

Что такое твинк и зачем он нужен

Многие игроки имеют низкую статистику при хорошей игре. Чаще такое случается, когда игрок освоил все нюансы игры и начал подробно исследовать информацию уже по прохождении большого количества боёв.

Согласно правилу, средний коэффициент побед высчитывается от общего количества боёв, поэтому, чем больше было проведено сражений, тем сложнее изменять все характеристики, в том числе процент побед.

Многие игроки решаются на такой шаг, как создание нового аккаунта. При этом чаще всего, изначально вкладывают в него большое количество денег, чтобы иметь привилегии. Будучи опытными, рейтинг у них с самого начала высокий, поэтому легче найти клан и воевать с хорошей репутацией.

Чтобы создать дополнительный аккаунт, нет необходимости использовать какие-либо программы или моды. Нужно просто пройти регистрацию. Опытные игроки часто сразу покупают премиум-технику 8 уровня, чтобы максимально быстро ускорить исследования нужных веток.

Не всем игрокам помогает твинк.

Например, при низких показателях ФПС, танкисту нет смысла создавать новый аккаунт, поскольку это не улучшит качество игры.

Как вариант, игроки создают себе дополнительные аккаунты (твинки), чтобы избежать клановых обязательств.

В кланах нужно часто принимать участие в сражениях, защите укрепрайона или нудных тренировках, а когда участник клана находится в режиме онлайн, его наверняка будут вызывать для участия. Вот в таких случаях, когда хочется поиграть в рандоме, пользователи создают твинки и спокойно маскируются под новыми никнеймами.

По сути, создание дополнительного аккаунта является незаконным действием, поэтому за это можно получить штраф. Однако разработчики не слишком глубоко погружаются в эту волокиту, поскольку создание твинка не влияет на игру.
